The Wee Glesga Poet began as a creative outlet while working with therapy clients, but through the power of social media, those words soon found a much wider audience.

I write and perform in my native tongue, drawing inspiration from Scottish life, lived experience, addiction and recovery, human connection, and the contrast that exists within us all.

My work explores the joy and the trauma, the darkness and the light, the black, the white, and the grey bit in between - because real life is rarely one or another.

At the heart of everything I create is honesty. Sometimes that comes through humour, sometimes through heartbreak, and often through the uncomfortable truths we don’t speak about enough.

I believe storytelling has the power to connect people, spark conversation, and remind us that even in our differences, there’s something deeply human that binds us all together.

And of course, there’s always room for a wee laugh along the way…

My Mark

I write because it’ll leave my mark, And these words that stand boldly in ink,

Will stand in time forevermore, As a script of how I think,

The creation of these characters, These verses I call art,

Will leave a mark, Etched with emotion, Long after the last beat of my heart,

All days countdown towards an end, But for however long I have left,

It’ll be spent gratefully filling pages, With words that dance around my head,

And these words that make it to paper, Will also find an ear,

And they might just spark a memory, That brings a little tear,

And in that raw emotion, That energy will cause a vibration,

And these words will hold that energy, It’ll pass on to the next generation,

These words we share between you and me, These words that convey such love,

These words will be the mark that I leave, When I’m looking down from above.
